The bulk of my career has been spent working with teams to engineer software in various industries for companies large and small. I spent a good deal of time before coming to Centric in the retail and e-commerce space working for HomePlace, IAC and HSNi as the web, portal and digital movement were rapidly emerging and evolving.
I moved to Atos Origin Consulting to serve the CPG sector in their global web solutions space with P&G as one of our major clients. This continued my career in the digital, portal and collaboration space where my teams were the technical counterpart to some of the top marketing agencies in the country working on behalf of P&G in designing web and emerging mobile solutions for their customers with brands like Pampers, Swiffer, Febreze, Homemade Simple, Mr. Clean, etc.
In joining Centric Consulting, I have not only gained insights and expertise in a variety of new industries like Insurance, Financial, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Non-Profits and more but also in a variety of new service offerings like Data and Analytics, Cloud, PEX, DevOps and QA. I have worked extensively in outsourced scenarios with offshore teams and find this delivery method to be extremely powerful when done right!
I love being part of growing our Centric India team as we build outsourcing success stories one client at a time. I am currently working with our technology team in Cincinnati on a technology imperative to create unmatched technology consulting today, tomorrow and into the future and creating a culture of exciting technology work for consultants.
I strive for excellence, but not perfection, in all facets of my life and believe in the power of a team to achieve incredible results.
Some key learnings from special people along the way . . .
- ‘The difference between mediocrity and excellence is attention to detail.’ One of my first bosses, Tony Graziosi, used this phrase regularly. He also taught me to grow a thick skin, take feedback professionally, not personally and never cry at work.
- ‘The biggest technical problems are people problems, not technology problems.’ Embedded systems genius & UB professor Mike Buckley taught this mindset for approaching all projects and introduced me to XP Agile long before Agile was mainstream.
- ‘You as an individual don’t have to have the answers, seek input from the team to leverage everyone’s input, talent, perspective and strength, the answer becomes exponentially better for the client!’ Centric’s Andy Park showed me how to live this statement my first few years on the ground here.
