Work Experience
I began my professional career performing security gap assessments against security and regulatory frameworks such as the FFIEC Handbooks, NIST CSF and CIS. After a period of observation and training I became a penetration tester, eventually being tasked with leading and growing the penetration testing practice where I lead and performed penetration tests across large financial institutions, hospitals, municipalities and manufacturing entities to bolster their overall security posture.
As my career continued I used the perspective gained from penetration testing to perform more in depth security reviews for organizations helping to identify business risks through various technical means. This led me to help start our vCISO service offering where I help advise organizations on security strategy and risk reduction.
Get to Know Me
I live in Northeast Indiana with my wife and three kids. Whenever the sun is out you will find our family outside either at the lake, local hiking trail or the backyard playing. Our family loves all things Disney and make regular visits whenever we can.
What’s Your Favorite Unmatched Experience?
My favorite unmatched experience comes from our penetration testing team who performed a security assessment for an organization that has been doing them for years. The client was surprised to find the number of risks identified that had been missed by their previous vendor. Our technical staff and detailed methodologies enabled us to dive deeper than had been done previously to showcase our value and enable the organization to become more secure as a result.
What Energizes You?
My family energizes me and brings me excitement. My three kids are young and still have an innocent and magical view of the world that I hope they never lose. They make the most mundane chores and outings exciting and I love to watch them as they explore the world and discover things on their own. The magic in their eyes never gets old and keeps me going everyday.
