Our Foundation – A Desire to Do Better and Be Better
There wasn’t one defining moment when Larry English realized there could be “more” to working in consulting. As a dedicated employee at an international consulting company, it was a slow build up to what he calls his “midlife crisis at the age of 25.”
Regular 100-hour work weeks. Watching the personal lives of colleagues and mentors suffer as they missed soccer games, dance recitals and date nights. Delivering client work and not taking the time to get to know the people behind the project… It all became too much.
So Larry pushed pause. He left, and together with his wife, backpacked around the world for a year. He returned with a beard, long hair and inspiration to become an entrepreneur.
The idea for Centric Consulting started on a couch that is now a symbol of our culture.
On this couch, Larry, together with his two longtime friends and colleagues – Dave Rosevelt and Eric Van Luven – conceived the idea for a different kind of consulting firm that would allow them and their employees to get more out of life and make a better impact on those around them.
As they laid out the initial business model, a few ideas were at the forefront:
Put company culture, clients and employees first
Hire those with a shared vision and commitment to helping clients be the best they can be. Nurture the talents and interests of employees in their professional and personal lives.
Create a virtual office model that includes localized business units
Allow employees to have a better, balanced lifestyle with more flexibility by being able to live and work in their individual communities.
Hire people with passion, integrity, and who genuinely care for others
Seek those who have a hunger for learning, generating ideas, and trying something new. Find individuals that revel in doing the unexpected and extraordinary for others.

Since Centric’s start in 1999, we have grown to more than 800 employees in 13 cities in the U.S. and India. Our consultants lead large-scale business transformation efforts, develop and execute on comprehensive digital strategies, and help clients prepare for the future while streamlining and improving their today.
