Are you deciding whether or not to upgrade your ERP or CRM system? It’s not an easy question to answer before addressing all of the different factors.
Hear from Centric Consulting’s Enterprise Application and Solutions Lead Andy Park about the factors in your decisions to upgrade your ERP or CRM system.
Factor One
Consider what technology you currently use. Your current technology could be nearing end-of-life for product support. This means it will no longer be supported at some point by the vendor in the near future. This fact is a primary reason companies explore transitioning to a new ERP or CRM.
Factor Two
Is your business growing at a fast pace, or are you growing through acquisition? The legacy technology you use may not be scalable or flexible enough to handle these situations when you grow rapidly. Your diversification into other products or service areas may also drive your need for systems modernization.
Factor Three
Legacy technologies can create compatibility situations. If you want to upgrade an application or a piece of your infrastructure, there is a possibility other parts of your system will not be compatible with that upgrade. Take a more in-depth look at your system and determine if additional upgrades and updates need to happen before you make any changes to your CRM or ERP.
Factor Four
Are you exploring migrating from a heavy infrastructure reliant system to a cloud solution? A lot of organizations get to the point where they have accrued a lot of tech debt. They end up behind on patches and updates and can’t maintain systems cost-effectively. This may be a driving factor in considering a cloud ERP or CRM solution.
