Ilan Berkner, former team member of Centric Miami, educated students about the company’s technology jobs at the Dillard Elementary Career City 2016 event on Wednesday, June 8th. The annual career fair introduces students to different fields – from information technology to construction – with the goal of offering them a glimpse at future opportunities.

20160525_100019More than 70 companies and countless volunteers attended this year’s event, which was organized by Ranger Good Works. The non-profit organization has adopted the Fort Lauderdale school and rallied the business community to support and donate their time and resources.  This year’s career fair also attracted multiple community organizations that encouraged students to serve their communities.

Berkner has been contributing his time to support Ranger Good Works for years, which aims to inspire youth to dream about their future. The organization also hosts a club called Ranger Super Coders Club that teaches students about coding and computer science to increase the interest in technology jobs.

“The kids are a joy to work with and the staff at the school is outstanding and supportive,” Ilan said. “I really enjoy working with the kids and giving them a view of the future by being hands-on when possible and demonstrating really cool technologies to them.”
