How we helped a manufacturing company build out a roadmap for successful change management.
Swagelok Company was founded 75 years ago with the mantra, "Make the best product possible to help customers succeed and keep making it better." The company follows their mantra to this day.
Swagelok, which started by manufacturing easy-to-install, leak-tight tube fittings, has expanded over the years to produce a full line of fluid-control products for various industries. Based in Solon, Ohio, the organization operates in more than 220 locations internationally, selling products through a network of worldwide distributors. Recently, Swagelok developed a change management methodology to improve project outcomes. Based on the Kotter Change Leadership model, the initiative first targeted mainly large, enterprise-wide projects. However, they later adapted the model for smaller- and medium-sized tactical projects. After they started applying their change management tools and principles to those larger projects, the company's leaders recognized opportunities to improve the effectiveness of their change management efforts for smaller-scale projects across the organization. As a result, Swagelok began searching for a partner to help improve and advance change management and leadership capabilities across its enterprise.
