Joseph Ours, Centric Consulting’s AI Strategy Director, was featured in an InformationWeek article about the role of AI in disaster recovery.
The article, “How AI Can Speed Disaster Recovery,” highlights how AI is transforming preparation, detection and response in IT disaster recovery.
Ours noted that government agencies and insurance companies are already using AI in planning and preparation. “They use predictive and classification models to analyze historical data and environmental factors to determine potential risk,” he explained.
The article explores both opportunities and challenges in AI-driven disaster recovery, including areas such as implementation costs, skills shortages, and the limits of AI in predicting “black swan” events.
“In this case, AI is neither a benefit nor contributor to the failure to respond because, by their very nature, humans would struggle to respond adequately as well,” he said.
Companies that proactively invest in AI will be better positioned to handle disasters and maintain continuity when they strike.
