Agile Midwest was founded to promote Lean and Agile concepts across all companies regardless of industry segment.
Their goal is to make the latest industry developments accessible to audiences in the Midwest, who deserve the same access to leading-edge knowledge as other technology hubs around the world.
The conference is two full days of keynotes and workshops focusing on various elements of using Agile in business. Before the conference, on September 24, Women in Agile STL and Agile Midwest will come together to bring a separate mini-conference event with a combined goal to launch new voices (Women In Agile). They hope to make the latest industry developments accessible to audiences in the Midwest.
There are four primary program themes this year: Agile Transformation, Coaching Agile Teams, Agile Technical Practices, and Business Agility. Each subject has sessions and workshops directly correlating with the themes.
Centric’s Brian Paulsmeyer, Senior Architect in St. Louis, will speak at the event. His presentation will cover the questions to ask when choosing the correct processes while eliminating waste to succeed in your agile implementation.
One of the goals of Agile Midwest is raising diversity awareness and how it impacts people, process, and product in our work lives.

The closing keynote is Bringing Broadway to Business: How Play Sets the Stage for Success presented by Kyle Post & Jennifer Davis.

Brian Paulsmeyer
Brian Paulsmeyer brings a pragmatic agile approach to allow continuous delivery of quality software across multiple industries and languages. He is experienced in building automation for continuous delivery and applying DevOps principles to legacy and green-field systems. Brian works with agile development within regulated environments including the FDA and SEC. He is a “working architect” responsible for architecture and hands-on implementation in a variety of fields including, healthcare, transportation, financial, and telecommunications industries using service-oriented, workflow-based, client-server, messaging, and mobile applications.
