This Magic Monday, we share three things to remember when searching for a thoughtful and intentional gift this holiday season.
With the holiday season and end-of-year festivities nearly upon us, gift giving is likely on the minds of many. But it can be hard, sometimes, to know exactly what to deliver that the recipient will appreciate.
For those times, there are typically three main qualifications to remember when giving a gift so that it truly resonates with the recipient and makes them feel valued. Whether an item, experience or other thoughtful gesture, whatever you deliver should be:
Personal
Giving a gift that matters to the recipient is primarily about listening. Take a few moments to chat with someone and learn what they enjoy doing, what hobbies they have and what sorts of things are important to them.
Timely
A thoughtful gift or gesture delivered at an inconvenient time or place can undermine the genuine intent. Conversely, a well-timed fulfillment of an unspoken need or desire can make all the difference. It takes knowledge and awareness of what the other person is currently experiencing to deliver at just the right moment.
Surprising
This can sometimes take a bit of extra thought, but consider what could really take this gift to that next level of surprise and delight. Is there some additional personalization, such as a name or date, you could add? A reference to an inside joke? What is that one thing which will create the “wow” factor?
These qualifications coincide a lot with our core purpose: to deliver unmatched experiences. Above anything else, the consideration and investment it takes to deliver something uniquely meaningful says, “I care about you.” How can you deliver an unmatched experience to show someone else that you care about them this week?
