Nineteen Centric Consulting leaders sharpened their skills and built relationships this spring as the first cohort of our Leadership Immersion Training program. Learn how LIT and the Centric Leadership Program are creating our leaders of tomorrow.
This spring, the Centric Leadership Program (CLP) graduated its first cohort of the Leadership Immersion Training (LIT) program. Describing LIT as “transformative,” “anything but cookie-cutter,” and even “like obtaining a Centric-specific MBA,” the 19 class members built lasting relationships across the company as they learned to tackle today’s most challenging business problems.
“In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, organizations are increasingly recognizing the critical role of effective leadership in driving growth, innovation and sustainable success,” our Vice President of Organizational Strategy Jeff Lloyd said.
“We implemented LIT to strengthen our leadership foundation and support our goal of becoming a 100-year company,” Lloyd continued. “It’s like the programs many cities have put in place to develop cohorts of leaders nominated from across their communities. It’s an intense, targeted, seven-month program for up to 20 high-potential leaders that empowers them to overcome the increasingly complex challenges that emerge as they take on greater leadership roles at Centric.”
By exploring diverse leadership strategies and styles, the first cohort strengthens their ability to:
- Build productive teams.
- Be champions for change.
- Create a culture of high performance.
- Lead through crisis.
- Build and strengthen senior manager relationships.
- Establish the critical leader responsibilities associated with developing talent.
“It’s like obtaining a Centric-specific MBA,” said cohort member Noah Grayson. “The program armed me with important perspective into my own leadership capabilities, offered tools and approaches that I applied real-time in my daily activities, and allowed me to learn from and build relationships with peers across Centric.”
Of course, those relationships are key to LIT’s success. The program builds on our people-first culture and its values of diversity, collaboration and innovation.
“My cohort of LIT peers are individuals I can lean on in good times and challenging times,” LIT cohort member Stacia Geib said. “We learned together. We identified our personal “whys” together. We were honest, open, curious, and transparent with each other. We were vulnerable and human together. We grew together. I am grateful Centric is investing in its future leaders and its people.”
LIT also fostered a collaborative learning environment. Through group discussions, peer feedback and collaboration, cohort members also had the chance to learn from fellow participants’ diverse perspectives and experiences.
“This aspect not only enriched the learning experience but also helped build a strong network of like-minded professionals,” said cohort member Matt Hawkins. “The many hands-on activities not only reinforced the concepts but also provided a safe space to experiment and learn from both successes and challenges.”
Several participants also noted LIT’s focus on practical application. Through interactive exercises, case studies, and simulations, cohort members can put their learning into immediate practice. Leaders from across Centric Consulting also shared their insights and processes.
“This personalized attention greatly contributed to my development as a leader,” Hawkins noted. “Overall, I highly recommend this leadership training program to anyone looking to enhance their leadership skills. It equips participants with practical knowledge, fosters collaboration, and provides personalized support. Thanks to this program, I now feel more confident and equipped to lead effectively in any professional setting.”
