Kapil Chaudhary is a Consultant for Centric India’s Data & Analytics practice. He has worked with multiple organizations before joining Centric. He has completed his bachelor’s in computer engineering and has 10 years of experience with expertise in insurance, investment banking and financial general ledger. Kapil was born and brought up in Delhi and loves to explore the world (preferably on his motorbike).
What’s your story?
I am a regular guy that you will find anywhere and everywhere in the world. I believe in strong family values and relationships. I’m pampered, optimistic and love to enjoy every moment in life.
What’s the best feedback you’ve ever received?
It’s very difficult to select one out from professional and personal feedback. “You can become anything you want. You can achieve any goals if you put your mind and soul into it.” These few lines by my best friend (and best critic) is the best advice I have ever received.
Why did you decide to become part of your field?
I would say, by chance. I never dreamt of becoming a software engineer. After high school, I didn’t want to pursue a career in family life (Government Officers, Lawyers, Cops), so instead, I got myself into a bachelor’s program for computer engineering. Fourteen to 15 years down the line, I can easily say I made the best decision for myself.
How are you guiding clients right now?
By understanding their needs and try to consult them with the best solution for them. I make sure I am not overselling or underselling them a solution. Many times, I have seen clients that are not sure of their requirements, and if they have those ready, they do not have a plan to execute. I try to help them out with both.
What, in your opinion, do companies need the most help with right now?
They need to adapt themselves to ongoing changes in the market, especially in managing their employees. Great companies are made by the employees, not the products or services they offer.
What do you think they should be thinking about next?
In this era of ever-changing technologies, companies should never stop thinking about investing in their people. Each day, there is innovation happening in the world, and it will continue to do so. If companies can take good care of their employees, they will never have to think about “what’s next,” their people will do it themselves.
What are you looking forward to in your industry?
The adaption of more data-centric approaches and leveraging the value of data which, most of the time, is untouched.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be and why?
Where would you be: “Gulaba,” a small village in the northern Himalayan range of India.
Why: Out of all the scenic mountains I have visited, this place stands out from the rest. I can’t explain in words, but there is something different about this place.
