Centric Consulting’s new Cybersecurity team, formerly The Mako Group, attended and hosted several events this past year that are worth noting.
Due to the increased quantity and depth of data breaches in the last two years, cybersecurity, risk and compliance are now an issue all companies – large and small, simple and complex – must address.
As such, our new Cybersecurity Consulting Services team has spent the last two years speaking at and attending conferences dedicated to learning more about this ever-evolving sector and contributing their knowledge to the forums.

The Mako Group’s Matt Kipp and Brandyn Fisher partnered with Global Telecom Solutions and TelDesigns to present “The Big What If” on January 26, 2023, at The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Focused on keeping businesses safe against ransom attacks, the program included real-life examples and solutions.

Cyber Risk Management Forum by The Mako Group (September 8, 2022)
The Mako Group hosted its Cyber Risk Management Forum at the Detroit Athletic Club on September 8, 2022. The opportunity for peer sharing in a sales-free environment was well received by Michigan C-level tech and security professionals.
The agenda included a multi-year “Covid reflection,” remote work risks, IoT and/or OT, ransomware, CMMC, ISO, HITRUST, and CIS Control 18.

Shane O’Donnell, Matt Kipp, and Brandyn Fisher represented The Mako Group at Global Telecom Solutions (GTS)’ 8th Annual Open House at the Detroit Athletic Club on July 28, 2022. The team received awards in two award categories, “Service Provider of the Year” and “Rising Star,” in recognition of its valued channel partnership with GTS.
