Microsoft named Matt Gordon and Josh Higginbotham among its Most Valuable Professionals.
DAYTON, OH, July 10, 2024 – Centric Consulting, an international business and technology consulting firm, announced today that two of its senior architects, Matt Gordon and Josh Higginbotham, have been named Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals (MVPs). This marks the fourth year of MVP status for Higginbotham, while Gordon is celebrating his seventh consecutive year earning the designation.
The Microsoft MVP program recognizes exceptional community leaders for their technical expertise, leadership, speaking experience, online influence, and commitment to solving real-world problems. MVPs support the growth of technical communities, share their expertise through events and community connections, and help improve and shape the future of Microsoft’s products and services by providing feedback to its engineering teams.
The two are among less than 400 data platform experts worldwide to earn this distinction.

Gordon has designed and supported critical cloud-based data & AI systems and was recognized as an MVP in SQL Server, Azure SQL Database. He leads the Lexington Data Technology Group and is a frequent domestic and international speaker, having spoken at more than 20 events this year, and is a co-author of the book, Pro Database Migration to Azure: Data Modernization for the Enterprise.
“The recognition for my community contributions means a lot personally, but the technology-focused part of my brain is thrilled to have another year of direct, behind-the-scenes access to the Microsoft product and engineering groups that are building these exciting products in the data and AI space,” said Gordon. “It’s incredible to be hands-on with these products in their early days, and it’s exciting for that to continue into a seventh year.”
Higginbotham, who is receiving this designation for the fourth time, has worked in various roles, including software development, database administration, and business intelligence. Higginbotham was recognized as an MVP in Azure Data Engineering and Data Science and Microsoft Fabric. He’s an active speaker within the data community and the co-chapter leader of the Louisville Data Technology Group on MeetUp.
