Centric Consulting’s Data & Analytics team won a local award from Columbus Business First at the BizTech Awards for Outstanding Innovation.
Columbus Business First held its annual BizTech Awards on December 4, 2019, at Vue Columbus with awards in categories such as Green Innovation, Outstanding Innovation, and Inventor of the Year, among others. The Data & Analytics team was excited to accept the Outstanding Innovation Award based on our work with our local client, RevLocal.
RevLocal approached Centric to create a predictive retention model to analyze client behavior and identify accounts that need extra attention. The prototype model used Microsoft’s cloud-based Azure Machine Learning Suite. According to Jeff Kanel, Centric’s National Director for Data & Analytics, “the power of a predictive model is its ability to be trained to identify patterns that can’t be seen through casual inspection.”
What makes this so innovative is that AI and Machine Learning, until recently, were only affordable by the largest of companies, both in scale and in cost. Now with the advent of Cloud platforms like Microsoft’s Azure or Amazon Web Services, companies of all sizes can utilize this technology.
CBF gives its Outstanding Innovation Award to companies who demonstrate exceptional creative success in problem-solving. The project with RevLocal gave us that edge.
Jeff Kanel, Tanya Kannon, Tony Lung, Art Smith from Centric attended the awards ceremony along with RevLocal’s Brenda Arnold, Vice President of Tech Enablement and David Jackson, Director of Technology Enablement. The judges looked at innovation specifically for local companies and how the solutions could build them up.
Art Smith said, “Centric is excited to receive this Outstanding Innovation Award that showcases our use of AI and Machine Learning on a smaller scale and cost to enable our local client to realize success.”
