The Business Need

One of the world’s largest producers of food and household products sought to enhance its planning and promotion management systems. After selecting and installing a software package from a major worldwide vendor, management was still dissatisfied with the applications for pre-planning support. Since trade planning and promotion management significantly impact the bottom line, the Company needed a flexible tool for the sales team to manage product revenue and profit.

Centric’s High-Impact Approach

Centric partnered with the organization’s web and workflow team to develop and implement an application to support the pre-planning process for the internal sales teams and outside brokers. The web-based system was based on the .NET technologies, specifically ASP.NET. It provided reporting capabilities through SQL server reporting services, and had the ability to export completed plans into the packaged application.

Results

The project’s success was evident, with more than 200 users embracing the new tool. The technical experts from Centric provided post-implementation support, as well as subsequent modifications to enhance functionality. The internal sales team and external brokers benefited from better tools which streamlined the pre-planning and promotion process.
