Centric Consulting’s Leigh Helsel and Caroline Weist will moderate and speak at the upcoming WITCON 2022 in Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
WITCON 2022: Exhilarate is GetWITit Columbus Chapter’s annual conference focused on bringing Women in Technology together for a day of leadership, learning and connection. The GetWITit organization aims to cultivate local community engagement so that women can sustain, excel and advance in technology careers.
Caroline Weist, Manager, will deliver her presentation, “Career Lessons from an Agile Nerd,” during the morning sessions.
Weist will speak about the young woman’s guide to getting to know her (working) self while trying to keep up with everything else. Using five different milestones, Caroline will show attendees how to know your worth, take those important career leaps, find your way in an ever-changing environment and much more. Listen to Caroline dissect seasons of her life, using retrospectives and lessons learned to make the next season the best one yet.
Leigh Helsel, Senior Manager, will moderate a panel session titled, “Be a journalist and not a fiction writer – resilience, influence and investing in yourself.”
In today’s ever-changing business landscape, it can be challenging to navigate career decisions given many of the old rules have changed over the past few years. With a hybrid workforce and speed of change, learning resilience, flexibility and how to advocate effectively for yourself is more important than ever. In this panel, Helsel and three other female leaders will discuss their career challenges, what changes they have seen in technology and share what advice they would give to their younger selves. Topics of discussion include:
- Staying resilient and overcoming adversity
- Succeeding with proactive leadership
- Understanding investment in yourself
- Creating a culture of connectivity, support and success in a remote work environment.
