The Puget Sound Business Journal named Centric’s Seattle practice one of the best places to work in Washington state.
The Puget Sound Business Journal recently named the Centric Consulting Seattle practice as one of the Best 100 Workplaces in Washington and No. 23 in the small company category. The journal announced and celebrated the recognition at the annual Washington’s Best Workplaces awards ceremony at T-Mobile Park.
The ranking is impressive, considering long-established Seattle giants like Microsoft and Amazon are in the team’s backyard.
Centric started its Seattle-based team to reduce the travel time for its consultants and provide the opportunity to staff local teams who understand the companies and communities in the Seattle region.
“The team is supportive of each other. There is good work-life balance and a nice mix of teambuilding and community service,” said Seattle Practice Lead Renea Rayner. “Our work is meaningful, and the culture is one of integrity, sharing credit, and keeping an eye on thoughtful growth. We’ve come a long way in the past few years, and it’s really gratifying to see the results of that hard work being recognized as well,” Rayner added.
The recognition comes after sixteen Centric employees completed a thirty-question survey about life and work at the company. Submitted in May 2023, the survey results are the sole criteria for the hundreds of companies who competed for this year’s distinction.
“The survey is not just about the competition,” Tristian Grenfell, Operations Manager for the Seattle practice, said. “It is one of many inputs we use to learn what’s on employees’ minds — both what we’re doing well and areas where we can improve.”
“I have never worked at an organization where my opinions and thoughts matter so much,” said Rolf Lorentzen, a Senior Manager for Centric’s Seattle practice.
“They take my ideas seriously and know I am a highly valued part of the team. They also regularly survey employees internally on important topics like DEI, and we use that data to make our day-to-day operations and workplace environment even better.”
Centric’s Seattle team now looks forward to using the survey data and recognition to become an even bigger presence in the Seattle consulting landscape.
“Technologies like AI, new consumer needs and expectations, and market disruptions change the game for our clients every day,” said Rayner. “We are happy to serve Seattle and the world from right here in the Pacific Northwest.”
