Centric, Matthews HELP and Apparo’s Community Impact Project Won Consulting Magazine’s 2017 Excellence in Social and Community Investment Award
Charlotte, NC, September 14, 2017 — Apparo, the only organization that engages IT professionals with the technology needs of area nonprofits, announced that one of its Community Impact Projects has earned Consulting Magazine’s Excellence in Community Investment Award.
The innovative, Apparo-led project being recognized was the result of a partnership with Centric Consulting and Matthews HELP Center & Thrift Shop to develop a centralized Salesforce Donor and Volunteer Tracking Platform.
Annually, consulting firms invest hundreds of millions of dollars in time, effort and sweat equity on engagements that serve a social and community cause. Consulting Magazine’s Excellence in Community Investment Awards recognize firms for their outstanding client service on a pro-bono, discounted or volunteer basis in either local communities or globally.
The 18 winning firms, along with the clients they served, were recognized at a gala awards dinner on Thursday, September 14 at The University Club in New York.
“Contributing to the greater good in our local communities is one of Centric’s core values,” said TJ Felice, Centric VP and Charlotte Practice Lead, who was honored by Apparo last year. “Partnering with Apparo allows us to work side-by-side with non-profits like the Matthews Help Center, providing them with solutions that help them pursue their mission and have a tangible impact on our local community.”
This is the fourth year that an Apparo-facilitated project has received this award. Two additional Apparo-led, Charlotte area projects were also recognized: the creation of an education app for addiction prevention to support the Center for Prevention Services, and a business process landscape for Habitat for Humanity Charlotte.
“This recognition proves the undeniable power of pro bono,” said Kim Lanphear, CEO of Apparo. “Our mission is to forge impactful partnerships between corporate IT volunteers and local nonprofits in need of technology solutions. These winning projects are just three amazing examples of how Apparo and its partners are using technology to create a better Charlotte.”
