With Help From Oracle Practice, Centric Consulting Implements a Cloud ERP Solution, Putting Financial Systems in Place for Growth
Founded over 15 years ago, Centric Consulting has continued to grow each year since. Recent accelerated growth, mainly due to homegrown partnerships, had led to increased revenue of more than $120 MM.
During this entire time, the company ran its financials using QuickBooks and Excel spreadsheets. Its Shared Services group, the company’s operations arm, had historically been able to meet financial reporting needs by using complex spreadsheets.
But the company was long overdue for an ERP system that would allow it to begin standardizing processes – to meet today’s needs and tomorrow’s growth estimates.
Our Shared Services group decided that a packaged software solution would solve its needs. With a packaged software solution, they could promote a standardized process that ensured consistent, reliable results.
The team chose NetSuite, an integrated cloud business software suite that’s part of Oracle’s offerings. NetSuite operates on a shared implementation model, which requires businesses to use their professional services team for support in system integration, setup and testing.
This was all uncharted territory for the Shared Services group.
Enter Centric: Oracle Practice Provides ERP Implementation Expertise
The Shared Services group needed help to navigate this implementation to ensure they were covering their bases. They also needed help implementing the change across business practices to make sure it was successful.
That’s when Centric’s Oracle practice professionals, experts in Oracle ERP implementations, stepped in to provide expertise. They saw this as an opportunity to bring their process and packaged software implementation skills to help lead the company’s transition to the new system.
Oracle practice members were able to quickly learn the new NetSuite platform and begin aiding the Shared Services team with configuration and testing. They applied their experience in implementing and supporting packaged software implementations.
Their expertise also helped bring additional structure to the project and testing plans.
To ensure a successful rollout of the new system with lasting change, our Organizational Change Management (OCM) practice experts helped implement the new processes.
The Results: Better Prepared to Meet Future Growth
Thanks to the Oracle team’s involvement, the Shared Services team was better prepared to meet the standard operating procedures for NetSuite’s cloud ERP implementation project. And it had staying power after going live with the system.
The Oracle team served as an integral player on the NetSuite support team and continues to provide ongoing guidance.
What’s Next?
Since completing the company’s own implementation, the Oracle practice has worked on several successful NetSuite financial implementations for clients. Plans are to expand the practice to offer NetSuite implementation support.
