New Orleans, LA – January 2012 — Centric had our first national volunteer day in New Orleans, La. to coincide with our annual company retreat.
The goal of the day was to bring Centric people, family and friends together to help rebuild the Gentilly Community Center of Hope that was still struggling from the effects left by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
We grabbed shovels, hammers, saws, paint brushes and our strength to work throughout a beautiful day to do as much work as we possibly could. For our one day of hard work, we had more than 300 people who were able to volunteer more than 2,000 hours.
Following the event, it had made such an impression on our company that the decision was made to provide further aid to the center. In February, we announced the company would provide $50,000 towards matching employee donations made to the Gentilly Community Center of Hope until 2013.
We would like to say thank you to all who volunteered their time, sweat and muscles in New Orleans.
