Centric Consulting’s Director of Security Services, Brandyn Fisher, was featured in a recent CSO Online article exploring how CISOs are using AI to enhance cybersecurity operations.
The article, “5 ways CISOs are experimenting with AI,” highlights Fisher’s approach to using AI technology to help prioritize security risks more effectively.
In one example, Fisher explained that by inputting a risk register into AI tools, he was able to identify strategic initiatives that would address nearly 20 percent of known risks, providing a data-driven foundation for project planning and funding requests.
“We know that likelihood and impact are the usual suspects when it comes to risk prioritization, but I wanted to dig deeper and look for projects that would not only reduce our overall risk but also knock out as many individual risk items as possible,” he said.
Another example highlighted his ability to translate technical metrics into executive-level insights while measuring the performance of a cybersecurity program.
“While I’m still the one monitoring all the detailed KPIs day-to-day, I now have this refined set of metrics that helps communicate where we stand and how we’re progressing to the people who need that bird’s-eye view,” he said.
