Centric recently participated in the first meeting of the US Virtual Community chapter of The WIT Network.
This year, Centric Consulting joined The WIT Network to empower, support and collaborate with women working in the technology industry.
Recently, The WIT Network created a US Virtual Community to extend their value to those who do not have a local chapter where they live and to those who work remotely. The inaugural meeting of the US Virtual Community took place on December 13.
Jennifer Jackson, a Manager within National Marketing, and Joyce Meyer-Warren, Senior Manager in St. Louis, joined the board for the US Virtual Community, supporting the chapter as Event Committee Lead and Support Community Lead.
“It’s great to be part of launching the US Virtual Community, and I look forward to learning from so many intelligent, successful women in tech. I can’t wait to bring valuable content and inspiring speakers to our chapter events and highly anticipate helping to ignite a passion for STEM among the next generation of young female leaders in our communities,” said Jennifer.
At the first meeting, the board introduced the goals and vision of the chapter and heard from other members to understand how to serve the US Virtual Community’s membership needs best. Both men and women attended the inaugural meeting, and we are honored and excited to have representatives among the many great companies participating in this new WIT community.
Joyce said, “I’m excited to be able to work with WIT as a virtual community board member because it gives me new opportunities to spread empowerment to other women in their technology career journeys. I’ve had really great experiences working in technology. My goal is to serve as a positive mentor to other women in tech.”
