Congratulations to Gwenn Denorme for winning the winter Volunteer Spirit Award for his work with Adaptive Sports Connection, a central Ohio non-profit organization that provides adaptive sports programs to children, adults, and veterans with disabilities.
Gwenn is a board member and one of their adaptive alpine ski instructors. During the winter months, he devotes his Saturdays at Snow Trails training participants with all ranges of disabilities.
The past two years, Gwenn has worked with Lauren Sampson, a 22-year-old student with Spina Bifida. Lauren participates in skiing using a HOC sit-ski that Gwenn maneuvers using tethers.
The Volunteer Spirit Award is given to the instructor-participant pairing who did something above and beyond for the season.
This past December, the two traveled to Breckenridge, Colorado to live Lauren’s dream of skiing the big mountains out west. Congratulations Gwenn and thank you for your dedication to such a good cause.
