Fitbit Blaze – a Smart Watch to Get you Moving Toward a Balanced Life

What would I do without my smartwatch? It tells time. Counts my steps. Knows my heart rate. Tracks my sleep. What more do I need? Talk about a need for BIG Data (but that’s another story…)!

I took the plunge into the smartwatch arena earlier this year. If you’re like me, your work requires spending countless hours in front of a computer screen. But I don’t let that get in the way of my well-being.

My Fitbit Blaze helps me stay on top of my basic exercise: walking. Automated alarms sound when I’ve been sitting too long. Other sounds celebrate when I’ve achieved my daily step goal.

Fitbit has also inspired a little healthy competition. I get to see the step counts my friends are logging on a weekly basis. So I try to increase my count to beat them. It’s fun – and important to make moving a priority if you want to keep your heart and mind healthy.

Sure, there are people who say these watches just add to the information overload. To some extent, they’re right. But, for me, it’s a big help to live a balanced life. It reminds me that I need to move and get my heart rate up every once in a while.

A watch is a small thing, but it might just help you achieve that balance, too.
